Microsoft’s big XNA announcement on February 20

GDC 2008 update Xbox 360 - Image 1It’s Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) time once again, and as always we can expect some good things coming our way in terms of gaming development. It looks like Microsoft has something big for us for the XNA Studio Homebrew, and it’s hidden with a shroud made even more mysterious by purple lights and fanfare. Check out the picture of the said shrouded booth in the full article.

GDC XNA Booth Shroud - Image 1The Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) is already here, and one of the things that Microsoft has in store for the GDC 2008 attendees is a booth covered with a strange shroud, located in Moscone Center’s North Hall. This is the same hall where Microsoft’s XNA games are being displayed.

The booth itself is bathed in mystery. With purple lights and a sign that says “Coming Soon! Wednesday February 20 11:30 AM,” people can’t help but try to peek at what’s hiding behind the shower curtain–er, white cloth. But as try as we may, all we can make out is a silhouette of…hmm. Boxes, perhaps? A TV display with a Xbox 360 console that can run an XNA development kit? Only time – which will end on 11:30 AM of February 20 – will tell.

We’ll be keeping tabs on this one, so stay tuned!
