Microsoft’s stealth attack is US$ 100 off on ‘like-360 Elite’ on Amazon?
Well, Microsoft did say that they’re not at all worried with the then-upcoming Sony GamesCom announcement. Whether it be a PS3 Slim or a price cut reveal, they’re ready for it. Cos they’ve got a plan. Their conference obviously did not have as much fanfare as Sony’s – no, sir, not by a loooooooooong mile – and it looks like their plan is nowhere to be found. Or is it?

Checking Amazon, you’ll find that there is something sneaky that MS did with their prices. While the Pro SKU and Elite are retaining their US$ 299 and US$ 399 tags respectively, if you check out the Xbox 360 Arcade and the 120GB HDD, you’ll find that it’s now at a lower price range.
The Xbox 360 Arcade is now at US$ 179.96, while the120GB HDD is now only US$ 119.92. So what does this mean? It means, that if you want to get a not-Elite-Elite model, you just combine the two, and you only need to shell out US$ 299.93. That’s practically like a hundred dollars off from the actual Elite! Just as it was rumored to happen last week.
Somehow that’s just still nowhere near as exciting as the PS3 Slim and price cut announcement.
