Mii voting channel a reality starting April 2007
Recently we reported on the “Mii voting channel” (that isn’t its official name; that’s just a placeholder until the official name is revealed). This is a new channel (coming soon) where people can vote on their favorite Miis. There has been some forward movement on this – a message was sent to Wiis in Japan with the date of the new Mii voting channel: April 29, 2007.
Basically it’s a face-off or Mii-off, where voters go to the channel and pick one of two Miis. If you’re familiar with the Everybody Votes channel, then you’ll feel right at home with this concept. This image from Siliconera should make it clear:
Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned this during the Nintendo keynote, so we’re pretty sure this isn’t an early April Fools’ Day joke. Besides, based on the generally positive reception of the Everybody Votes channel, a Mii voting channel is no joke: it’s a valid way to build community – and it’s a fun way to show off your Miis!
Still, it kind of makes you wonder what else Miyamoto and friends are cooking up for the rest of the year. A Mii dating service? A Mii “hot or not” or some other or “rate-me” channel? Maybe something like “rate my Mii’s body” – because judging by the image below, not all Miis are made alike.
