Unseen64 is reporting that Electronic Arts has commissioned Backbone Entertainment to create a demo of Mirror’s Edge (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) for the aforementioned platforms.
They even have a screenshot of the alleged Wii demo, although the DS and the PSP status remains to be unknown. And what do you know, based on the screenshots it looks like they’re tweaking the gameplay to let the players see Faith spring and fly in action. In third person in other words.
If this be the case, it looks like the devs and publishers did take into account the sentiments of many players who felt that it was such a waste not to see what Faith was doing because they had Faith’s view.
I’d personally say it would be cool to have the game in third-person. It’s parkour. Unless you do it yourself, it’s meant to be seen from a different angle and perspective, otherwise, it’s just gonna be dizzying. However, for the sake of those who do prefer the first-person perspective, maybe they can make it a switchable option?
But am getting way too ahead of myself. There’s still no official word on this, but just in case, we’ll let you know, as usual.
