Miyamoto on Wii Pikmin and 1:1 sword fighting game
Nintendo Company Ltd.’s Shigeru Miyamoto had some surprises up his sleeve, and Nintendo Wii fans are sure going to love it. The famous game producer revealed to IGN that the game company is considering the likes of a 1:1 sword fighting game to come to the Wii console. To quote the Nintendo exec:
We haven’t announced anything, so I can’t speak about any particulars, but we do have a lot of ideas about how we could potentially use the Wii remote for something like that.
Sounds good enough, but then it gets better: “There will be some fencing in Mario & Sonic at the Olympics,” Miyamoto said to IGN. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that, so if I’m not, I’m very sorry, SEGA.” How’s that for spilling the beans?
IGN also sprang another suprise question to Miyamoto: How about a Wiimake of Pikmin? “I certainly don’t think we’ve seen the last of Pikmin,” Miyamoto answered, brightening the hopes of many a Nintendo fan hoping for a Wii version of Gamecube’s popular series. He also said that the Wii interface is very well suited for the Pikmin franchise, and that he’s interested in creating a Pikmin title.
So there you have it. A sword fighting game for the Nintendo Wii on the way, and Wiikmin, perhaps? While Miyamoto did not give out any other specifics, the future is indeed filled with hope for Wii owners.
More updates as they come!
