Miyamoto: Wii and DS Updates
Shigeru Miyamoto, Director and General Manager of Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development, revealed interconnectivity plans between Wii and DS.
According to Miyamoto, the technology to support this is already built in to the console but they haven’t decided on how to put it to work yet. If this pushes through, it’ll make it possible to download content from your Wii to your DS, edit it and then transfer it back to the console. Other possible additions could include the use of touch screen and microphone input from the DS to affect Wii gameplay.
The most exciting bit of all is customizable Wii remotes. Nintendo’s hopes are that everyone in the family will have their own personalized Wii remote, so that they can just hop into a game with the controller. Wii would customize the settings of a game based on which controller turned on the console.
The release date together with the price, will likely be announced at the Tokyo Game Show says Miyamoto.
