MLG Chicago Results

Azen and Chillin

If MLG‘s latest event shows anything, it’s that “The Windy City” should be renamed to “City of Upsets”! Both Super Smash Bros Melee and Halo 2 players saw some of the top teams ultimately fail to reach their goal. In Halo 2 4v4, both Str8 Rippin’ and Carbon were sent to the loser’s bracket early. Seeing as they were ranked 2nd and 3rd, that’s a pretty big drop for these guys!

In SSBM 2v2, something even more extraordinary happened. Ken and Isai, previously able to cruise to first place without so much as breaking a sweat, were taken out not once – but twice! KoreanDJ and Mew2King stuck them into Loser’s, but lose when they met up again in the Loser’s. Azen and Chillin, who had previously seen a humiliating loss to Ken and Isai at the MLG Nationals last year, defeated them soundly. This marks the first time Ken and Isai have failed to capture first in an MLG Doubles event! Check out the full results.
