Mobile Suit Gundam: CROSSFIRE screenshots

In U.C. 0068, Degwin Sodo Zabi becomes leader of the Republic of Zeon, the autonomous government of Side 3. The following year he establishes a new government, declaring himself sovereign of the Principality of Zeon. This is the rebel space nation that challenges the Earth Federation during the One Year War.

This is the premise for Namco Bandai‘s latest addition to their highly successful Gundam series of videogames. Developed for Sony‘s next-generation PS3 console, Mobile Suit Gundam: CROSSFIRE takes place in the latter stages of the One Year War. The game gives player the opportunity to become a battalion commander for either the Federation or the Zeon Mobile Suit Assault Force.

In a Gundam game, the mobile suits will always be the stars, and CROSSFIRE certainly does not disappoint in that department. As you can see in today’s batch of screenshots, the detail on the mobile suits is quite impressive, and we particularly like the weathering effects on the Zakus. The environment looks a bit sparse, but the screenshot of the Zeon mobile suit (is that a Zgok?) standing waist-deep in the water is looking pretty good.
