Mod: DIY Water-cooled Xbox 360 and a power supply
It’s no secret that the Xbox 360’s got a penchant for overheating when not properly looked after. If you happen to be a like Wolfe however, you’ve probably grown tired of this problem, and decided to take it upon yourself to come up with a solution. Read more on this mod attempt over in the full article.
As the old saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. Such appears to be the case with Wolfe of the Onan’s Disciples forums, who decided to mod an Xbox 360 in light of the console’s habit of freezing up during a game.
Wolfe, with a little help from a friend, successfully retrofitted the 360 with its own water-cooling system, built from what appears to be bits and pieces of aquarium hoses, and an aerator. The duo also decided that the unit’s power supply could use some modding, and gave it a bigger heatsink. Topping off this mod attempt is a new set of blue LEDs for the 360’s rings. We probably don’t have to remind you that this mod voids the console’s warranty.
We’ve posted a couple of pictures of Wolfe’s modded Xbox 360 and power supply here in case you’re wondering how it looks. More pictures of the setup’s internal working should be available at the modder‘s post via the source link.
