Mod player Modo

Modo from wbb - Image 1

It's been a while since we had a mod player released 'round here. It seems that homebrew developer wbb noticed the same and that's why he came up with an ultra simple version known as Modo. The application is compatible with 669, IT, MED, MOD, MTM, S3M, STM and XM module format.

Being an initial release, wbb noted that the program has certain limitations. The few he specified include:
  • Only 32 sample / instruments names (messages) are rendered. If a format supports more samples / instruments and the mod file author put messages there you do not see them. No scrolling atm.
  • Also if author put messages in instrument and sample section the player displays the instrument section. No switch button atm.
  • You not select / play individual files directly. You have to go through all files in directory in play mode.
  • This is first release, I've tested with many mod files, but there is always possibility that you encounter bugs...
Despite those, we think that Modo is pretty much a useful application even at its current state. Among other things, the player has three speed settings: normal, reduced, and extreme. The developer added that the Extreme speed setting allowed his PSP unit to run for eight hours nonstop.

Anyway, Modo comes with Readme file that has detailed list of all the player's other functions. It also has a keymap for browsing folders and playback. Be sure to read that first before installing this on your units.
