Mod: The Super Mario Galaxy Wii

Mod: The Super Mario Galaxy Wii - Image 1 Morpheon Mods has just announced the completion of their custom Super Mario Galaxy Wii console. While the light and sound show on this new piece are certainly an eyeful, one other feature the team’s proud of is its custom logo. More details on this project are available in the full article.

Remember Morpheon Mods, the guys who brought us the custom Rockstar Wii last year? The mod team is happy to announce that for this year, they’ve just completed work on something decidedly bigger: The Super Mario Galaxy Wii.

This customized console will feature a total of 60 LEDs, some of which will treat the users to a dazzling light show when they power the unit on. Also not to be missed are the integrated sound effects taken straight from the classic Super Mario Bros. Game. A red Wiimote, inspired by Mario’s trademark hat, rounds out the rig.

The center piece for this project, as the team explained, would definitely have to be its laser-sculpted logo:

The main side of the Wii features a CAD-designed laser cut Super Mario Galaxy marquee. Made of stainless steel, it was hand polished to a chrome-like shine. The marquee was mounted on a piece of polycarbonate backed with a special handmade print using the original logo colors and space graphic. The result is a fully 3D one-of-a-kind replica of the Super Mario Galaxy logo.

Dare we say it – the crew certainly went all-out on this project. The Super Mario Galaxy Wii is currently being auctioned off at eBay, with 15 percent of the proceeds to be donated to Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity program.

Those interested in getting an eyeful of the beautiful piece of craftsmanship will want to check out the video below. More details regarding the auction and the console are available at the Morpheon Mods blog, via the source link below.
