Modern Warfare 2 gets Call of Duty prefix again?

Has Activision been affected by the talk of Modern Warfare 2‘s brand awareness level taking a hit after they dropped the Call of Duty prefix? Judging by the final box art, it seems so. Check it out after the jump.

Has Activision been affected by the talk of Modern Warfare 2‘s brand awareness level taking a hit after they dropped the Call of Duty prefix? Judging by the final box art below, it seems so.

The box art was linked to by Infinity Ward‘s Robert “fourzerotwo” Bowling via a Twitter message. Dunno about you, but the Call of Duty name just looks so… tacked on. Of course, the name doesn’t really affect the game, but it may help bring in the less-informed who didn’t realize the game had any ties to the superbly crafted Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Modern Warfare 2 will launch November 20 on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
