Just yesterday, we finally got confirmation that Capcom will be releasing Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G for North America in the form of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. More Capcom loving pours forth today as we now also learn that Europe will be getting Unite just as well.
We also have confirmation of a release window: spring 2009 for both North America and Europe. This via Capcom's press release.
No jokes about it either: Capcom's series has such a huge following indeed. To date, Portable 2nd G's already sold 2.4 million units in Japan. And collectively, the entire series has already sold 7.8 million copies... worldwide.
So what can we expect from Unite? Well, for one, there's that new AI Felyne customizable companion - you can even share your in-game questing buddy to your other friends via "felyne casting". Another new feature is the media install which allows you to save the game to your memstick. Mmhmm, simultaneous loading from UMD + memstick = faster load times.
And with that, we leave you with the first batch of screens for the game. Set your eyes on the prize: we're going monster hunting early next year! Woot!
