Capcom‘s Monster Hunter series isn’t just about, as the title suggests, hunting monsters. It about hunting giant monsters that literally dwarf you. Heck, a typical hunter is barely bigger than one of Lao Shan’s claws.

While the sheer size of some of the beasties in the Monster Hunter series come across as very intimidating for people not familiar with the games, I’ve always seen it as one of the series’ biggest draws. There are a lot of things less satisfying than bringing something almost a hundred times bigger than you down to its knees.
