Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G could become Monster Hunter Unite
It seems Capcom recently put up a survey for people to answer regarding a game they’re calling Monster Hunter Unite, and they mentioned a certain Link functionality. Link mode would apparently allow users “to play with other players across the world via a PS3 connected to the internet.”
Does that sound familiar? Why, that may just be Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G! More after the jump!
PSP Fanboy is reporting some well-placed information in the Capcom Unity blogs. One thing that may contribute to the eventual release of Monster Hunter Portable 2nd Gworldwide would be the announcement of an upcoming new infrastructure mode for the game.
Here’s the spin of things from the Capcom Unity side. It seems Capcom recently put up a survey for people to answer regarding a game they’re calling Monster Hunter Unite, and they mentioned a certain Link functionality. Link mode would apparently allow users “to play with other players across the world via a PS3 connected to the internet.”
As you can probably guess from the above, that function is pretty much a description of the feature that’s going to show up in Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. A separate thread (external link) has a Capcom representative refusing to comment on what Monster Hunter Unite is, so we’ll have to wait for official word in the future.
This is currently unconfirmed, so for now, we’re putting this in the rumor bin. That said, Monster Hunter Unite does sound like a cool name, don’t you think? If and when an official announcement about Monster Hunter Unite surfaces, expect us to have a new game title on the sidebar.
