More Bioshock Info To Interest You
Picture this: You just survived a plane crash, not knowing where you are or why were you on the plane in the first place. You’re just about to abandon all hope, when you notice a lighthouse near you.
So you go there, and proceed to go downstairs. Going further, you realize you are in for the shock of your life: you just stumbled upon an underwater city, known as Rapture. You soon discover that this city was built by Andrew Ryan, a former Soviet citizen. Rapture has about everything it needs: purified water, food supply, even a line of defense systems via oceanic currents.
Interestingly, in this very city, a sea slug that releases stem cells became the focus of research and various experiments. Dubbed as Adam, it (the slug) was used to genetically modify humans, becoming an instant hit to a both scientists and the entrepreneur who invested in the research. Unfortunately, a genetic arms race between Andrew Ryan, and Fontaine, an entrepreneur broke out.
And this is the Rapture you find now after this so-called race: in complete disarray. Along the way, you encounter enemies such as the powerful “Big Daddies,” the genetically modified, flesh-drilling “Little Sisters,” and the preying “Splicers” – mind you, all these creatures used to be human. (Ahh..and the secret of Rapture goes deeper still.)
This is the setting of Bioshock, a game developed by Irrational Games for the Xbox 360 and PC. This game sounds a promising treat, with its intriguing storyline and gameplay. Hopefully, we’ll get to know more about it upon its release on 2007.
