More BioShock woes: SecuROM prevents installation after 2nd try
Looks like PC gamers are having a hard time with BioShock, but problems don’t stop with widescreen issues or crashing bugs. Some discussions over at the official 2K Games forums are heating up over BioShock‘s copy protection which prohibits installation of the game more than twice.
Some keen eyes tracked down SecuROM, the game’s front against piracy, and found out that an activation code can only be used two times. Trying to use a code for the third time will result in an error that you see above. Consequently, future hardware changes may prevent you from playing the game. Blogger Ceasar S. is in a fit, because he can’t upgrade his machine after he activates 2K Games’ BioShock (also out for Microsoft‘s Xbox 360).
A few posters at the forums claim to have received emails from SecuROM after complaining about the issue. The response they got read: “You’ve activated your game too often. Please contact 2K Games regarding this issue.”
