Hold on to your heads… er – hats, we’ve got another update for the upcoming PlayStation Portable video game, Dead Head Fred. We’ve got some Scarecrow Head screenshots and some info on the Shrunken Head’s use.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Dead Head Fred from D3Publisher and Vicious Cycle is an action title where you’ll play as Fred Neumann, a headless detective. (How he lost his head is a long story.) There’s an upside to losing your head: Fred can rip his enemies’ heads off and use it himself with added bonuses in abilities. In the screenshots, we see the Scarecrow Head in Action. Of course, you will have to “acquire” a head from one of the Scarecrows first who apparently came from the farms of Hope Falls and are accustomed to using crows as projectiles.

Shrunken Heads originated from ethnic groups from Ecuador and Peru who shrunk real human heads. In Dead Head Fred, the head is used to shrink Fred to the size proportional to the head. It’s pretty nifty when you need to get to small cramped spaces. According to IGN, the Shrunken Head’s special move is the Roll which allows players to enter small areas and dodge attacks. The Roll is not only defensive in nature as it can be combined with an attack which produces a Rolling Uppercut.

Interesting eh? We wonder how many more heads will be available in Dead Head Fred‘s arsenal. In the meantime, check out the screenshots of the Scarecrow head, and try not to think of Jonathan Crane.
