More details on Brave Story for the DS
It’s been a while since we heard news about a DS version of Brave Story coming out, now the website updates us on the full title of the game as well as some details about the story. The Brave Story game for the DS is named Brave Story – Boku no Kioku to Negai, which translates to Brave Story – My Memory and Desire. The premise of the game brings you to two worlds, first, the real world, and the other, the magical world.
In the real world, you are an 18 year old whose life is currently on the rocks. A little frustrated with life, you reminisce your childhood by looking at your old books and find a book that your mother has given you. You head to a secluded place to read the book peacefully, until you open the book and your adventure begins the moment Mitsuru, one of the book’s characters, welcomes you to their world.
In this world, you play as the hero who has arrived in this magical world to fulfill his destiny. Mitsuru then guides you to this world and teaches you the way of the book. Exploring the world is easy, you simply use your touch pen to move your character around. The game works like any other RPG of the FF kind wherein you go around towns to progress in the story and so on. You are also entitled to play puzzles to unlock things in the game. The game’s animation appears to be very 2D in nature, a stark contrast compared to its PSP counterpart. However, the game does not promise whether Brave Story will hold the same plot as the movie. It may be related to the film, yet the site doesn’t really show the significance it has with the upcoming animated film. Perhaps, it will be like the PSP game, on a more 2D level.
