More DoTs? Rank 12 Frostbolt gets a tiny buff

Taken from http://deedlit.exblog.jp/m2005-08-01/ - Image 1Mages who’re fond of freezing people in their tracks might have mixed feelings about this new bit of World of Warcraft news, but a tiny buff is better than none at all. After numerous complaints were lodged against the power, and lack thereof, of the new Rank 12 Frostbolt, Blizzard‘s decided to increase the damage by just a tiny bit.

It seems that Rank 12 Frostbolt isn’t exactly scaling well as is, not doing enough damage compared to previous ranks. As Vaneras, one of Blizzard’s community managers, writes on the EU forums:

We have received quite a few reports regarding the Rank 12 Frostbolt not doing enough damage when compared to Rank 10 and 11. To address this issue we plan to change Rank 12 in the near future, hopefully to be implemented with the next patch already.

Frostbolt rank 12 should get improved and receive approximately 20-25 additional damage points for max damage.

That’s not exactly what frost mages were hoping for, but an incremental damage increase like this would stack up in long, drawn-out battles. Not exactly some all-powerful enhancement to a Burning Crusade spell upgrade, but it’s better than hearing the three most dreaded words in WoW: “Working as Intended.”

Besides, wasn’t a mage the first character to hit 70?
