More fighting words from Microsoft’s Shane Kim

Shane Kim - Image 1Shane Kim is a perplexing person. Not only does he fail to adequately explain why Shadowrun costs more on one format compared to another, he also brings some less-than-positive comments to bring up Microsoft‘s status in the console wars just a little higher.

In an interview with Shack News’ Chris Remo, he manages to praise Nintendo (and then take the praise back) and say some fighting words on Microsoft’s behalf against the PlayStation Network. Of course, there’s a ton of new information on Xbox Live and the direction of Microsoft with regard to pricing, but there’s still a lot of enmity there.

Some choice tidbits?

  • After praising Nintendo for being “very smart” in bringing in new blood into the games arena, he also manages to mention that “In the long run, if they really attract more people to the industry, that’s good because we think we’ve got the best overall solution.”
  • Comparing the PlayStation Network’s Home application and Xbox Live services, he says “PlayStation Network is not Xbox Live, it’s not even close. To think about layering [Home] on top of that–wow.”

It’s definitely polarizing, how he words it, and we certainly hope these big boys can play nicer in the future. Still, information is information. You’ll definitely want to go take a look. To do just that, click on the Read link below for more fighting words from Mister Kim.
