More storage space: guild banks in WoW’s future

That's my kinda bank!Mules, goats, donkeys, alts… there are about fifty different names in the gaming world for “alternative in-game storage space”. Heck, Dungeon Siege even had actual in-game pack mules for people to carry their stuff for them.

While World of Warcraft definitely will not see actual mules in the future, they will be seeing something that should lessen the strain of keeping crafting materials and extra weapons on alternate characters.

According to a post by Enoyls on the World of Warcraft forums, Blizzard has been thinking about the item storage problem and they’ll be introducing guild banks in the future to make things easier for us. Unfortunately, there isn’t a date set for any actual implementation of the said feature, but it will definitely be some time after the Burning Crusade expansion hits retail. Boy, is he a sly one.

For now, everyone will just have to be a bit more patient and make do with alts and creative use of the auction house to store and transfer items. Let’s just hope the actual bank itself is a highly-functional and easy-to-use little bit of programming they’ll add in. What kind of features do you think ought to be in a guild bank, eh?
