More Trophy hackers running loose on PSN

platinumTrophies. Ideally, you get them only because you earned them. Be it a headshot on a jumping enemy, collecting treasures, or acquiring every item in a game, Trophies are proof of what you’ve been able to accomplish, regardless of whether you go out of your way to earn them or not. Some gamers, however, are taking their Trophy-lust to an unhealthy level, resorting to Saved Game hacks to obtain the coveted badges.

Case in point:

Fuel, SOCOM: Confrontation, and more recently, Modern Warfare 2 have all been subject to the Trophy hacking. This practice is definitely not new. Those who tried to pull it off on Xbox Live subsequently got the weighty Microsoft banhammer. Sony, however, hasn’t been seen addressing the issue, and according to PS3 Sense, they don’t seem to care.

As it is, more and more PSN accounts are getting levelled up with two-minute Platinums. The last firmware update, 3.15, did not appear to resolve the matter, so we’ll leave this up in the air for discussion.
