It’s been a while since we’ve last heard from K2 Network‘s MMORPG, MU Online. Now, it seems that K2 Network is planning quite a drastic move to fix the game economy, and we catch wind of it with this latest news update from the game’s official website. Yes, you guessed it – it’s rollback time.

So, just how far back will the game’s changes be rolled…back? Apparently, back to April 1st, that day where people like to indulge in healthy pranks and mischief. This rollback is no prank, however, as K2 Network promises that when the maintenance period for the rollback is over, the new GameGuard patch installed will block quite a number of 3rd party programs and hacks.

While this should certainly be cause for celebration, K2 Network also plans to compensate the hard work and energy players have put into since April 1, both for the P2P and F2P brackets of the game. How? Here’s a quote direct from the latest update:

As a way to compensate our understanding customers for this significant inconvenience, we are going to automatically apply 10 days of Gold Premium for those with Gold Premium access and 10 days of Silver Premium for those players with Silver Premium access.

Those with F2P accounts: We will be applying the Silver premium Experience and drop rates to all F2P servers for a full week. Basically, servers 1, 2, and 3 will be Silver for 7 days.

We will also replace the double drop rate event with the Medal event, so everyone will still get those 7 days of Medals dropping. The medals will be turned on when the servers go back up, and will remain until the 6XP event starts, April 15th at approx. 18:00 -8GMT.

There’s also the deal about the Time of Chaos period. For those of us who are already quite experienced with MU Online, it’s that time in the game where pretty much anything you do will be rendered insignificant after the roll back. Of course, this doesn’t mean that the administrators will be turning a blind eye to flagrant rule-breaking, but you will be able to PK as much as you want. There are also some in-game changes, so you’d better read the entire announcement in the via link below for all the info.
