Multiplayer Oblivion Thanks To The Ferret

Oblivion Multiplayer

Although Xbox 360 fans have hankered for a little multi player action in the marvellous Oblivion RPG, despite its huge single player experience, theyÂ’ve been sadly let down on this front. Bethesda Softworks, makers of the award winning title explain that the reasoning behind this lack of multi player is simple, they state that “Rather than split our focus between two different types of gameplay, we’d rather focus on one and make it the best single-player experience possible.” Sounds like a fairly smart move, despite it leaving fanboys / fangirls wishing for more.

This is where the modding community comes into things. If you’re playing Oblivion on the PC, as opposed to the Xbox 360, you’ll be thrilled to know that ‘The Ferret’ has done just that. Ferret has released an alpha version that allows two players to check out the world of Cyrodiil together, with even more still in the planning stages. Ferret is working on the next release that will hopefully support up to eight players with various game modes, such as old favourites deathmatch and capture the flag.
