My TV bigger than yours: PS3 + 200-inch screen

Oh, the glory.... - Image 1

So, if you mix Ridge Racer 7, a PS3, a 200-inch screen, and a thousand-dollar HDMI cable, what do you get? Well, in the words of the Japanese gadgeteer Yoshio Ohara, you get a theme park ride.

That’s right. Starting out with a standard 20GB PS3, Ohara purchased an HDMI cable which costs US$ 1200 (the WireWorld Silver Starlight 5/2 1 meter HDMI-HDMI Cable, from what we gather), hooked up the PS3 to a 200-inch theater screen, popped in a game disk, and then proceeded to have a great time. So yeah, this pretty much confirms that HDMI cables are actually worth it.

There were, of course some blurriness at some points since the game wasn’t exactly made to be projected onto such a large area, but besides that, Ohara and his team were able to bask in the glory of PS3 graphics.
It’s very hard to imagine just how all that would actually look like in person, though we could tell from the videos and the photos that they took that whatever it was that they saw, it was beautiful.
