N64 Controllers and Gameboys in Weta Workshop’s Tripod

It seems that the folks at Weta Workshop are closet Nintendo fanboys. They may not explicitly profess their undying love for Nintendo, but if you’ve been paying close attention, you might have seen the signs of Weta’s Nintendo fixation. Donutta over at the NZGamer forum has posted pictures of the menacing “Tripod” (a monument of some sort created to celebrate the Wellington film industry). If you happen to live in New Zealand, you might want to check it out.

One would think that if there are hidden markings in that massive  monument, it would be something that will remind us of the great works of the company – anything relating to “The Lord of the Rings,” perhaps. But no, none of those. Instead, we see these:

Weta’s got the N64 controller and Gameboy covered, perhaps, a year or two from now we’d see a DS and a Wii carved down there somewhere.
