Namco Bandai has announced a pair of new Tales of Phantasia PSP remakes for Japan. Well, one of them’s actually new, at least.
The remakes will be packed into a single disc and collectively called Tales of Phantasia X. One game, Tales of Phantasia Cross Edition, is basically the same as the fully-voiced remake from 2006, although it does have a revised battle system and a few new story events.
The other game, Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon, is completely new. This is a full remake of the Japan-only RPG released for the Game Boy Color ten years ago. Narikiri Dungeon is set a hundred years after Tales of Phantasia and features two explorers, Dio and Mel, as they explore randomly-generated dungeons.
Tales of Phantasia X is set to hit Japan later this year. No overseas release has been announced as of yet.
