NCSoft and NetDevil Celebrate Launch of Auto Assault

For those of you with road-rage fantasies, NCSoft and NetDevil have given you a safe place to act on them: Auto Assault.

This just-launched MMORPG features both one-on-one and team combat in a virtual, post-apocalyptic “Mad Max” world where motor vehicles are the weapons of choice. Auto Assault features “purpose built arenas” and the ability to customize their automobiles with custom wheels, motors, armor, and delightful add-on extras such as the Ranged Graviton Laser of Destruction. (Guns and knives are obviously of little use on this battlefield.) Weapons will be capable of wreaking havoc in any of five categories, ranging from chemical poisoning to total destruction.

In preparation for E3 2006, NCSoft and NetDevil are holding an in-game tournament which begins Saturday, 29 April, starting at 3:30 PM on the East Coast. The winning team will get a free trip to Los Angeles for E3 2006, where they will take on a team from NetDevil on the big screen.

Prizes will be awarded to each of the four members of competing teams. These will include two months of free play, official AA T-shirts, online AA Trading Card Accounts, and – for the first place team – an all-expense paid trip to E3 2006 and an invitation to NCSoft’s E3 party (for those 21 of age or older).

Those of you going to the party are reminded that driving over pedestrians, smashing into other cars and driving through buildings is definitely uncool unless its online in the Auto Assault arena.
