NCsoft explains Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa test server seeding

NCsoft has been encouraging players to try out the Public Test Server put up for newly-released MMORPG Richard Garriott‘s Tabula Rasa.

It is in this specific location where new builds are first introduced before going live to the game’s actual servers. But before you do, there are some things that you have to keep in mind first particularly on “seeding”. More on this after the jump!

NCsoft has been encouraging players to try out the Public Test Server put up for newly-released MMORPG Richard Garriott‘s Tabula Rasa.

It is in this specific location where new builds are first introduced before going live to the game’s actual servers. But before you do, there are some things that you have to keep in mind first, particularly on “seeding”. NCsoft provided this explanation:

Each time we apply a new large patch to the Test Server, we wipe the test server clean and apply the character data to it from another server to ‘seed’ it.

This week, the Centaurus Server was used. We will rotate servers each patch. The seed server will from now on list the name of the seed server at the top.

It was only a couple of days ago when Military Surplus venues where added to the test server of Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa where players were finally given quick and easy access to in-game items.
