NCsoft Wins Big at the D.I.C.E.

The annual D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Create, Entertain) awards were held last night in Las Vegas, by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.  City of Villains and Guild Wars both won the award for “Best Massivly Multiplayer Game of 2005” and Cryptic Studios designer Richard Garriot was inducted into the Hall of Fame; joining other famous innovators like John Carmack, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Trip Hawkins, Shigeru Miyamoto and Sid Meier.  Lineage II, for its Chronicle 3 expansion was also nominated but couldn’t break the tie between Guild Wars and CoV.

3 of the 4 games that were nominated for best MMOG of 2005 belong to NCsoft, which certainly shows that they have been doing something right the past few years.  Two more NCsoft releases to keep an eye on will be the highly anticipated release of Tabula Rasa which should start beta testing somtime early this year, and Auto Assault which is currently available for pre-order in selected stores.
