NCsoft’s grail quest
Through the course of our history, countless grail quests had been launched already and unfortunately none succeeded. Maybe unknown to most, the vast gaming universe also has a holy grail and it is also lost. In a recent interview though with European Director of Products Thomas Bidaux, it seems that NCSoft knows where it lies and they’re quest had started already.
“The holy grail of gaming is a game that plays across as many platforms as possible,” claims Bidaux. He added, it is not about making a great PC game and then making an excellent console version. The key is having the same game which people can play on both platforms and possibly adding in their mobile phones.
NCSoft started operation back in 1997. In its just less than a decade of existence, the South Korean computer game company is already a force to reckon with. Accordingly, NCSoft is most familiar with MMORPGs like Lineage and Guild Wars.
Finally, Bidaux announces NCSoft’s current view regarding the matter in just a very simple sentence: “The longer the player can keep the [gaming] world with him, the more he’ll stay in the game universe.”
