Cid2Mizard has released FAT PLAYER MIKMOD v3, a module track player for the Nintendo DS that’s based on libmikmod 3.2.0ds1. The amazing thing about this application is that it allows you to play quite a large number of file types, though it probably won’t be any of the file types you’d normally associate with music files.
Here’s a list of the file types associated with the application:
- 669 (Composer 669, Unis 669)
- AMF (DSMI Advanced Module Format)
- AMF (ASYLUM Music Format V1.0)
- APUN (APlayer)
- DSM (DSIK internal format)
- FAR (Farandole Composer)
- GDM (General DigiMusic)
- IT (Impulse Tracker)
- IMF (Imago Orpheus)
- MOD (15 and 31 instruments)
- MED (OctaMED)
- MTM (MultiTracker Module editor)
- OKT (Amiga Oktalyzer)
- S3M (Scream Tracker 3)
- STM (Scream Tracker)
- STX (Scream Tracker Music Interface Kit)
- ULT (UltraTracker)
- UNI (MikMod)
- XM (FastTracker 2)
FAT PLAYER MIKMOD v3 also carries the following features with it:
- 1782 files supported ( 99 pages of 18 modules).
- Touch for Play module.
- Frequence visualizer for the 32 channels real time.
- Infos ( title, time, tracker, real channel & total channel ).
- Stop, Mute, and volume gestion.
- Zoom x500 to x4000 for visualizer frequences.
All in all, it’s a pretty solid piece of work for music fans out there to try out. Just note that there doesn’t happen to be a readme for the application, so you’re going to have to get a feel for the application by trying it out. That being said, enjoy the app!
