NeoGeo Emulator for PSP RC2
Another lesson in speedy development from Japanese developer NJ can be found with yet another release of his NeoGeo emulator for the PSP, bringing it up to RC2 just a day after the NeoGeo Emulator RC1 was released for the PSP! As always QJ’s ever dependable Jeff Chen was on hand to provide you with a slick english translation of the changelog:
- Rominfo.dat updated. Please make sure you update with the new file.
- Rom converter updated.
- Raster effect unified into the normal version.
- “Raster Effect” added to the top Of the Game configuration screen.
- When enabled, the raster effect will be turned on. Yet, this setting is different to others, which is saved separately for each game.
- Now the following games are supported:
- Metal Slug 5 (JAMMA PCB)
- SVC Chaos – SNK vs CAPCOM (JAMMA PCB/Set 2)
- Jockey Grand Prix
- V-Liner (Set 1)
- V-Liner (Set 2)
- There are still 2 games slated for support but yet not working ( The King of Fighters 2003 and The Irritating Maze). I hope they can be fixed in the next version.
- Universe BIOS v2.0/2.1(and v2.2) supported again. When starting these BIOS versions, all the games will always start with raster effect using the supported driver.
- Miracle Adventure (spinmast) seems working now.In order to run this game properly, scanline cancelling will always be turned on no matter what value is set for Raster Effect.
Now, there is a piece of bad news and some good news for NeoGeo emulator users. NJ has also informed us that he cannot add any new functions that were planned to add in future versions due to memory limitations. The good news is that he will continue to update the NeoGeo emulator with numerous bug fixes and rom support. The next version will be v0.1, which we hope to see soon!
