NES game Athletic World resurrected as Wii Family Trainer
It should be remembered that Nintendo has promised during this year’s E3 that the Wii Balance board will not be limited to the upcoming video game Wii Fit. The company said that more titles compatible with the said Wii peripheral will be released in the future.
True enough, Namco Bandai has just announced a new Wii title called Wii Family Trainer. Details are still vague as of now since the announcement was made in Japan. If we are not mistaken, however, this new title will be roughly based on Bandai’s Athletic World.
It was released on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1986. That game required the accessory Power Pad and simulated five different Olympic challenges. According to Japanese site Impress Watch, a couple of the events in Wii Family Trainer include a rowing challenge and a “tramcar adventure”.
We expect to hear more about this at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 07.
