burning-crusadeAnd the drama continues for the Chinese operation of World of Warcraft. NetEase has just confirmed that they have suspended the registration of new accounts for the territory.

The suspension comes in the heels of of reports last month that the Chinese government were all set to declare NetEase as illegally operating the game in the country.

It has also been revealed that the operator has in fact filed application for a license so that they can run The Burning Crusade in China already.

“We recently submitted our application to operate WoW: The Burning Crusade to the General Administration of Press and Publication for review.”

We can only guess what new drama will come next with this scenario, but what we do know is that some 11 to 12 million Chinese gamers are miserable waiting for their favorite game to run smoothly in their country.
