Netflix has announced that they are planning to release a software-only version of their online video rental service for the PS3 this October.
Netflix has announced that they are planning to release a software-only version of their online video rental service for the PS3 this October. Speaking in the company’s recent earnings call, CEO Reed Hastings said:
“Before our next [earnings] call in October, we expect to be launching a major new version of our Sony PS3 user interface which doesn’t require a disc, and is dynamically updated continuously with the latest Netflix UI improvements.”
Netflix is expected to reveal more details about the upcoming update in the coming weeks, stay tuned.
