Neversoft out, Robomodo in for Tony Hawk series?

Activision - Image 1 Now that Activision‘s Tony Hawk skating franchise is facing stiff competition from EA’s Skate, rumors are circulating that the publisher may want to innovate the series by giving the axe to the series creators. Is Neversoft out and is new dev Robomodo in? Details after the jump.

Tony Hawk's proving ground - Image 1Activision is keeping its silence about the future of its celebrated Tony Hawk skating franchise. The publisher has refused to confirm whether or not it has assigned developer Robomodo to work on the series in place of former handlers Neversoft.

The publisher gave CVG the stock answer that it “does not comment on rumour and speculation” when confronted with the question. Nonetheless, CVG was quick to point out in its post that there are signs of such a transition.

The site said that earlier Activision statements suggesting that they want to innovate the series and Robomodo’s confirmation that it’s working for a game under the Activision banner could be signs of the development. Sounds like a nice theory, but we’ll have to wait and see about that.
