Neverwinter Nights 2 captivates the critics

Neverwinter Nights 2

If Europe’s top gaming media were to play the role of Santa Claus this year, it looks like Atari would be on top of the Christmas list as the nicest little boy on earth with Neverwinter Nights 2. Game critics have recently climbed onto NW2‘s sleigh and was able to take it for a spin. These guys’ reviews have nothing but good stuff to say about the RPG with a massive following since its first installment in 2002.

Here’s the list, and check it twice. Their ratings are enough to convince us:

  • The sequel weÂ’ve been waiting for. ItÂ’s hard to think of anyone who could be disappointed with the contents of this box. 91% – PC Format, UK
  • Solid proof that the RPG genre is still going strong, and will probably not be kicked off the throne by time consuming online adventures. Long live the king! 9/10 – Gamereactor.dk, Denmark
  • Warm, deep, intricate beyond belief, so very funny (wait until you meet the gnome bard), and magnificently involving. 9/10 –Gamesradar.com, UK
  • Finally, once again, a true role playing game. 10/10 – Eurogamer.de, Germany
  • If you want to live an epic adventure, containing every bit of RPG magic ever, you canÂ’t go wrong with Neverwinter Nights 2. 96% – Micromania, Spain
  • If only just a small fibre of your being likes role-playing games, then NWN2 should be in your game collection immediately. 5/6 – Dagsavisen newspaper, Norway
  • For variety and longevity Neverwinter Nights 2 is amongst the best games of the moment 5/5 – XL di Repubblica newspaper, Italy
  • If you are a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, you need this game urgently! 85% – PC Jeux, France
  • The triumphant return of the ultimate RPG. 96%” – PC Master, Greece

It’s been a month now since it was released in North America; in Europe, it’s been a little over half a month. It might be a bit early to say so, but we’re imagining a lot of gamers far and wide snuggling comfortably on their computers this Neverwinter winter season. Besides, if you’re not busy with the RPG campaigns, why not create your own version, right?
