New batch of Dragon Quest IV screens from Famitsu
From Square Enix‘ arsenal of remakes comes Dragon Quest IV for the Nintendo DS, and here are screens to prove how an aged classic can be revitalized on the handheld. Compared to the DQIV remake on the PlayStation back in 2001, it’s easy to say fans will be more than happy to have an epic adventure on the go.
As a faithful remake, it seems Square Enix is really pushing for that old school look. Character models, unlike in Final Fantasy III‘s full 3D reincarnation on the DS, still retain the anime-esque style. Environments, especially the interiors, have improved a notch and buildings look quite epic. Beautiful artwork is plastered onto the background during battle.
No thanks to rough translation, we can only figure out from Famitsu‘s Dragon Quest IV post that there’ll still be plenty of dungeon crawling. You’re still the hero who’ll encounter interesting allies and enemies, then eventually save the world. Questing won’t start until the game’s November 22 release in Japan, so we’ll leave you with the screens for now.
