New Batch Of Screens For Virtua Fighter 5
Sega‘s popular versus game, which has stormed our arcades for years is, getting a new look for the Playstation 3. So, without further ado, here comes the latest batch of screenshots for Virtua Fighter 5. Featuring old favorites like the Bryants, Wolf Hawkfield, Pai Chan, and Akira Yuki, as well as two new characters Eileen, who is proficient in Monkey Kung Fu, and the luchero El Blaze.
Having come a long way from their blocky roots when the game was first released on the Sega 32x and Saturn back in 1993, Virtua Fighter 5 for the PS3 now features ultra-smooth graphics and character renderings, as well as highly-detailed environments which will run at 720p High Definition resolution.
The game was released in Japanese arcades back in July, and is expected to be available for PS3 owner by March of 2007. The character customization feature that is available in arcades will be ported along into the PS3 version of the game. Reminiscent of Tekken 5‘s customization option, players will be able to adjust the look, clothing and accessories of their favorite fighter. Whether the whole customization trend will carry over to Tekken 6 (since Virtua Fighter now has it too) remains to be seen, and thus leaves the question as to whether this will become a standard for all upcoming versus games.
