New DDO Test Server Goes Online On Friday

This weekend will see the opening of Risia, the new Dungeons and Dragons Online test server. The new server will feature the newest content from the upcoming Stormreach Under Siege update. To help populate Risia, the guys from DDO merged characters from four servers (Thelanis, Khyber, Argonessen and Fernia) into it. The character data used in the merge was captured on Tuesday, September 12, and will not reflect any progress made since this date.

Name conflicts will undoubtedly arise due to the merging, but since the Thelanis server was used as the base server for the merge, characters from that server will retain their names while characters from other servers will have their served name appended to their character name. Those who don’t have characters on the four merged servers need not worry, because for this weekend, all characters adventuring in Risia will gain 10 times the normal XP.

The Risia Test Server will be used periodically in the future to give customers with paid subscriptions the opportunity to preview new DDO content and features. Risia will go online on Friday, September 15 and will be available until Monday, September 18 at 9:00 AM Eastern.
