New Japanese PSP Pack Coming?

Could this be what In-Stat recently predicted? In-Stat made a forecast that Sony will launch a price war as counter- strategy to the recent mega-sales of Nintendo’s DS.

“Insider info” has it that Sony is on the verge of releasing a $249.99 PSP Pack. The pack includes:

• 1 PSP system
• 1 GB memory stick
• Lords of Dogtown (UMD Movie)
• ATV Off-road Fury: Blazin’ Trails

Sony, if the rumor is true, is hoping this will help PSP sales catch up with DS Lite, which has sold a total of 3,967,887 units at end of August. The DS, whose sales have slowed down, has racked up an impressive 6,577,160. PSP’s total figure is a close 3,911,800. But this was before the launch of the DS Lite, which sold like crazy hotcakes. All sales figures are for the Japanese market only.
