New Jeanne d’Arc screenshots
Jeanne d’Arc is certainly one of the more interesting-looking RPGs that’s headed for the PlayStation Portable – not only does it have a titular female heroine filling the role of the main character, but it’s also a fantastic interpretation of the war between France and England. By fantastic, yours truly means as both very weird, and very good – and these screenshots will convince you of that and more.
In this batch of fresh screenshots, we see the game’s unique cel-shaded graphics tell a story of combat, self-discovery, and a duty to fight for king and country. The grid system that we see more in more in today’s RPGs is very nicely done, with the characters detailed to the hilt and very distinguishable from one another. The portraits are drawn in an anime style that has a traditional feel to it, and conveys the emotions of the characters very well.
Certainly a very good game coming from the folks over at Level 5 – let’s just hope it doesn’t have the horrifically sad ending that the actual figure in history ended up with. Updates as we get them, in the meantime enjoy the screenshots!
The rest of the screens await after the jump!
