New MarioBrosDS-The Game&Watch Simulator
Game&Watch fans out there should find this bit of news to be all good as adree has developed a handheld simulator of MarioBros Game&Watch for the Nintendo DS, using PALib to write the game.
This game exhibits Mario and his brother Luigi working in a bottling plant, loading cases on a belt conveyor. The point of the game is to load as many cases on the conveyors and on the truck without breaking any of the cases. The game is played on both screens of the DS, so you’d have to flip it on its side to be able to play it. The LEFT-RIGHT buttons control Luigi, while UP and DOWN control Mario. To shift from the easy to the hard level, you only need to press button A or B from the title screen. One worries though that the controls may turn out to be not so easy to use as the flipped DS makes handling a bit difficult.
Suggestions have been made to make it easier, such as rotating the screen game to use Y and B bottom to control the left screen, and use A and X button to control the right screen (by grey_fox_mg).
Anyway, you can download the game here, so feel free to check it out yourself. It also comes with both .gba and .nds with instructions included in the zip file. Maybe you could have some ideas to go with it as well. This is one fun game we’d all want to play, anyway.
