New mech fighting game for Xbox 360 – Mobile Ops: The One Year War
Namco Bandai has announced a new mech fighting game coming to the Xbox 360 at the end of 2006. In Mobile Ops: The One Year War, players take part in space colonists’ brutal battle for independence from The Earth Federation. Waging war in giant machines called mobile suits, they are capable of ultimate destruction like no other weapon.
“…We fully expect ‘Mobile Ops’ to immerse gamers into a futuristic world where giant mechas loom against a war-torn horizon… players can choose to engage enemies on foot, in vehicles or in mobile suits”, commented Yoshi Niki, business director of Namco Bandai.
Mobile Ops: The One Year War will also utilize Xbox Live heavily, as customization features for player mechs are supposed to enhance the online combat experience. Presented in a full HDTV resolution, expect beautiful visuals full of details like rusted metal and visible combat damage.
