Yes, a new MechWarrior game is in the works. This was confirmed by co-creator Jordan Weisman in an interview with IGN alongside the release of a concept trailer.
The game, simply called MechWarrior, is apparently a reboot of the series and focuses on a family serving House Davion at the end of the Third Succession War. It’ll follow the action-sim style of previous games and will heavily integrate information warfare. Multiplayer modes such as 4-player co-op are also being planned along with cross-platform play.
It’s currently being developed by Piranha Games for PC and Xbox 360 in collaboration with Weisman’s Smith & Tinker company. There’s no publisher attached to this game yet, but hopefully the concept trailer snags a few offers. You can check it out below.
