New PlayStation 3 model spotted FCC exhibits list

The 40GB PS3 as pure “rumor and speculation“? Hmm, indeed. It looks like there are more evidences to the contrary, however. This time around the latest evidence of the new PS3 SKU is a new PS3 model posted in the FCC exhibits list, added only recently. This particular PlayStation 3’s model number is CECHG01, and is packed with the following specs: Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and some other specs found in other PS3s.

Here’s the thing: the 40GB PS3 rumor points to a stripped-down version of the console – without any USB ports – but this new PS3 in the FCC exhibits list includes ports for USB, HDMI, and Ethernet.

There’s a small chance that the new model in the FCC is NOT the cheaper version of Sony‘s PlayStation 3, so we’ll have to wait around a bit for a few more details just to be sure.
