New PlayStation 3 print ads sighted

One of the things that make these ads quite remarkable is the way that they don’t sell the product blatantly, but still manage to make the people talk about it. More details in the full article.

Now here’s something interesting that you may want to check out: Korean website Ruliweb just put out a couple of beautifully-done new PlayStation 3 advertisements created by advertising agency BBDO Chile.

One glance at the advertisements will tell you that the advertising team did not intend to directly sell the PlayStation, because you’d have to be hard-pressed in locating anything that represents the PlayStation 3. Of course, you’d notice that the ads are branded with “PlayStation 3” and that would probably be enough.

Okay, here’s a clue: the statues from both ads hold a PS3 controller. Awesome, yes? Now we leave it up to you to scope out the other PS3-related symbols. Also, if you want to find all the symbols, you’d have to go to the Via link to get a higher-res version of the images.

We actually like the way how the ads turned out: with the Nazi-esque iconography of one ad and the fantasy (more like nightmarish, with ogres and everything) set-up of the other, the Sony PlayStation 3 sure pushed the envelope of print ads this time. And yeah, we still couldn’t get over the awesomeness that is the Clio Award-winning “Double Life” PlayStation ad campaign.
