New QJ.NET Features: Tags and Jump Filter

QJ LogoAs some of you may have noticed, we’ve unveiled a few new features here at QJ.NET today! For the less observant amongst you, I’ll give you a little rundown!

First up, we have expanded the “Jump it Up” feature a bit to include the “Jump Filter”. At the top of each of the news pages, you’ll see a drop down menu. You can use this to determine what news is displayed and what isn’t, depending on how many Jumps that article has. If you’re only interested in seeing news and articles that are popular with other readers, than this feature is for you. You will still be able to view “hidden” articles if you want by clicking on the “Show” bar at the right side of a hidden article’s title.

In case you’re having a hard time finding the Jump Filter, this is what you should be looking for:

The other new feature for QJ.NET is the new Tag System. Starting today, Tags will be added to the text of articles for key words and interesting phrases, as well as at the top of each article. By clicking on a Tag, you will be whisked away to a page showing every article that has that tag. So if you’re reading an article about the Xbox 360 and “Microsoft” is mentioned, you can just click on the link and you’ll be presented with every article from any QJ.NET blog that has mentioned Microsoft. This will undoubtedly delight information buffs who just can’t stop clicking their way through the internet to learn about anything that piques their interest! As time goes on, this feature will become more and more extensive as we build up our Tag library with every new article that gets posted!

Feel free to leave some feedback in the comments about these new features, or you can Contact Us with your feedback on any problems you may be encountering or suggestions you might have to make QJ.NET the best it can be! And as always, the easiest way to let us know you like what we’re doing is to Jump it Up!
